IFSKGIA Operational Standards

IFSKGIA Operational Standards for Instructional Courses and IFSKGIA Instructors:

1. On class 1 seas the maximum number of course participants taking part in a IFSKGIA sea kayak course must correspond with the following ratios and all the instructors must be IFSKGIA certified instructors.
2. On class 2 seas the maximum number of course participants taking part in a IFSKGIA sea kayak course must correspond with the following ratios and all the instructors must be IFSKGIA certified instructors.
3. On class 3 seas the maximum number of course participants taking part in a IFSKGIA sea kayak course must correspond with the following ratios and all the instructors must be IFSKGIA certified instructors.
4. On class 4 seas the maximum number of course participants taking part in a IFSKGIA sea kayak course is the sole judgment of the Senior Guide responsible for leading the course.

IFSKGIA Operational Standards for guiding at sea:

An associate guide is in the process of achieving their full guide certification and from the 8th week of the guide course is considered an associate guide.

1. On class 1 & 2 seas the maximum number of participants on a guided trip must correspond with the following ratios and at least one IFSKGIA certified associate guide must be responsible for the trip when under the guidance of a IFSKGIA senior guide
2. On class 3 seas the maximum number of participants must not exceed to following ratios and at least one IFSKGIA certified guide must be responsible for the trip.
3. On class 4 seas the maximum number of participants must not exceed to following ratios and at least one IFSKGIA certified senior guide must be responsible for the trip.
